Peggy McGregor Bourgeois, a native of Lambert, MS, and a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at the age of 84. She attended Sunday school class at Istrouma Baptist Church, and had retired from Macy’s in 2007, finishing a long career in retail sales. She was the “Ultimate Grandma” and loved to spend time with her family. Peggy is survived by her two daughters: Kelly Bourgeois LeCompte and her husband Tommy of Baton Rouge, and Karrie Bourgeois Hovis and her husband Warren of Destrehan. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Andrew Brun and wife Sarah Jo, Blaine Brun and wife Ashleigh, Lindsey Spencer and husband Matthew, Patricia Crowdus and husband Josh, Corinn Hovis, LeeAnn Hovis, and Rachael Hovis; three great-grandchildren: Madelynn, David, and Walker; a host of nieces and nephews; and her dog, Dixie. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Prentiss and Thelma McGregor; her sister, Marteen Ainsworth; her brother, Charles “Sonny” McGregor; her husband, David L. Bourgeois; and her daughter, Kimberly Bourgeois Brun. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 11 am until service at 1 pm conducted by Pastor Matthew Spencer of 2nd Baptist Church in Houston, TX.
