It is with great sorrow, that we, as a family, announce the passing of Peggy Jane (Price) Jervey. After multiple extended illnesses, Peggy passed away, peacefully, in her sleep, on August 17 at her home in Long Beach, Ms.
Born in Baton Rouge, La. on June 13, 1953, Peggy, affectionately known as "The Dragonfly Lady" for her love of anything with dragonflies on it, was a shining light in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. Peggy's love for dragonflies was only surpassed by her love of living on or near bodies of water. Her journey on earth was one filled with love and compassion for others. Just like her Daddy, Peggy NEVER met a stranger. Whether it was from her days of working with her family at Ed Price Building Materials or from her love of travel, she considered everyone her friend. We ask that you remember Peggy, not for the way her life ended, but for the love and humor she displayed each and every day of her life. No doubt about it, Peggy was definitely one of a kind.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents Joseph E. (Ed) and Hazel 5. Price, Jennifer's Dad Steve Bonfanti, and her little furbuddy Bentley (BUBBA).
Peggy is survived by her husband Ron Jervey, her daughter Jennifer Radley (Wayne), her step daughter Amanda Wycuff (Jordy), her step son Nick Jervey (Audrey), her sister Sarah Thibodeaux (Bryant), her brother Ronnie Price (Teresa), her brother Jim Price (Judy), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Peggy's tremendous love for her grand children and great grand children was unmatched. Grand children Kortlin O'Mara (Jacob), Koby Radley (Shellie), Jordyn, Kadyn, and Camden Wycuff, and Payson Jervey. Great grand children Jakelyn, Justus "Bean", and Jordi "Britches" O'Mara and Kolly and Riley Radley.
Peggy's funeral services will be held Saturday, August 22 at 11 a.m. at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, La. Entombment to follow at the Greenoaks Mausoleum. Peggy's visitation will also be on Saturday, August 22 from 9-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Peggy's pallbearers will be Wayne Radley, Koby Radley, Jacob O'Mara, Jim Price, Ronnie Price, and Chase Thibodeaux.
We all know of Peggy's love of her flowers, but, in lieu of flowers, your donations would forever be appreciated.
