
Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and dear friend to many, Peggy Duke Stockwell, 89, passed away on Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was a native and resident of Baton Rouge. Survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Bronwyn A. and the Rev. Ron Smith, and Sharon S. Pugh; three grandchildren, Kelly Woodring, Brandon M. Domingue and wife Johanna, and Aimee D. Felchak and husband Andy; two great-granddaughters, Emily Frances and Sarah Grace Felchak; five sisters, Alice Pope, June Dodd, Beverly Tucker, Margaret Farmer and Judy Newby; and four brothers, Wiley F Duke Jr., Jack Duke, Earl Duke and Benjamin Duke. Preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Stockwell; parents, Wiley F. Duke Sr. and Mamie Lea Hinson; two sisters, Myrtle Louise Materiste and Jane Ethel Duke; and brother, William Paul Duke. Her love of family, church and all it embodied was the source of her many creative talents for homemaking and fine needlework. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association. Visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Thursday, Nov. 20, was from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation resumes in the chapel on Friday from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Ron Smith, the Rev. Jerry Martin and the Rev. Lamarylis Cotten. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Ensley Duke, Andy Felchak, Mark Duke, Charles Farmer Jr., Keith Richards and Will Duke.
