Peggy B. Stone

“Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.” (Psalm 116:15). Peggy Bass Stone, a native of Jonesville and a resident of Greenwell Springs, went to her heavenly home Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the age of 77. Peggy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was a member of Sandy Creek Baptist Church. She delighted in her children and their accomplishments and relished family gatherings. Peggy will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, William “Bill” Stone; one daughter, Bennie Rice and husband Robert; four sons, William G. “Gary” Stone and wife Melanie, Donald Ray Stone and wife Kim, Robert Neil Stone and wife Nora Lee, and Jason Stone and wife Michell; sisters, Georgia Bass Netherland, Dimple Bass Cooper, Sheila Bass Mayo, and Bobbie Bass Calhoun; brothers, Charles Bass, Dale Bass, and Mark Bass; 12 grandchildren, Will Stone, Kelly Stone Liebert, Brandon Stone, Randi Stone, Jessica Stone Boudreaux, Hannah Stone, Nicole Stone Quintanilla, Marissa Ann Stone, Robert Carson Stone, Robert Jacob Rice, Aaron Rice and Jesse Stone; 5 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Budrow and Lilac Bass; and brother, Budrow Bass Jr. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Memorial Park on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 5pm until 9pm, and resume Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at Sandy Creek Baptist Church from 9am until funeral service at 11am. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Will Stone, Brandon Stone, Jacob Rice, Jesse Stone, Carson Stone, and Shane Boudreaux.
