Penelope Ann Trepagnier passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by family and friends, on Friday, May 11, 2018, at the age of 62. She was born October 20, 1955, in Baton Rouge, La, to Joseph Trepagnier and Audrey Taylor Trepagnier. She was known to everyone as “Penny”. Penny is survived by two sisters, Danielle Trepagnier and Drusella T. Beaudoin; nephew, Brandon Beaudoin; niece Mignonne B. Morrell (Todd); and two great-nephews, Maximillian and Dysen Morrell. Penny worked at Bell South (AT&T), where she created many lasting friendships. She chose early retirement to move back to Baton Rouge (from New Orleans). Penny decided to start her second career with the American Legion, and worked for them until her illness required that she retire at the end of 2017. Penny had a passion for family, friends, and fun. She never met a stranger, and always had a smile on her face. The numbers of her friends, and the length of those friendships is testament to personality. She would, literally, give you the shirt off her back. She cared enormously, gave selflessly, and loved deeply. The word ‘no’ did not seem to exist in her vocabulary. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Saturday, May 19, 2018, from 11:00 AM until the time of funeral service at 2:00 PM. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Family and friends may sign the online guestbook or leave a personal note to the family at

Penny was such a nice lady who always had friendly words for everyone who called the state American Legion Headquarters. I want to send my condolences to the family; may she rest in peace; she fought a good fight and now she is with our Lord.

With my sincere sympathies.

Penny will be very dearly missed by me. The world was a better place with her in it. She was a fine beautiful lady with a very serene and kind disposition. I know that her parents and Jaque will be welcoming her into Heaven, because she is with the Lord Jesus now. She was a very, very special lady and dear friend. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this very difficult time of such a great loss. With love and Blessings, Susan Gray

I am so deeply sadden to hear of Penny's passing. Penny was such a special person to Mark and I. She was always there to support us and we shared many laughs together. Penny was always the "sunshine" at the Legion. I will always remember Penny and cherish the wonderful memories we shared together. Rest in peace my precious friend, until we meet again, Phebe Markland.

So hard to believe that you are gone. It seems like only a couple of years ago both you and I were young and in the prime of our life. I had just started my Dental Practice and you were one of my first patients. I had been your dads dentist while in Dental School and he suggested you see me when I graduated.
That was 34 years ago. You were a loyal patient, but way more than that. You and I were friends. We shared stories about our lives and comforted each other during difficult times. I always looked forward to the days when "Penny Trepagnier" was on the schedule because I knew at some point during that appointment you and I were going to have a good laugh. So long my friend. I will truly miss you.

Dear Danielle,
We both know how your heart is broken with the loss of your sister and best friend Penny. There are probably no words that can mend your broken heart at this time. Penny was loved by all her American Legion Family and the Department of Louisiana has lost a great lady. Dan & I have so many good memories of Penny we loved her laugh and her wit and she always told it like it was you either liked it or not. Penny was really such a fun & funny lady. Praying for God to be with you in your time of sorrow. WE Love You. Dan & Josie
