
Peola Webster Holliday III, age 73, died peacefully at home on February 8, 2014 after a lengthy battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana, December 10, 1941, to Peola Webster Holliday, Jr. and Faye Elizabeth Blanchard Holliday. His parents predeceased him. "Pete" was a graduate of Istrouma High School and LSU with a degree in Electrical Engineering. A licensed professional engineer, he retired from DSM Copolymer in 2000. In addition he worked at Crown Zellerbach and Gulf Power. Pete was an active member of Broadmoor United Methodist Church, Red Stick Kiwanis, as well as performing mission work in Jamaica and Appalachia for the United Methodist Church. After retirement, he volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and tutored math at Broadmoor Elementary. Pete also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing as a former member of Sherwood Forest Country Club. Pete is survived by his wife of fifty years, Cynthia Leigh Brashier Holliday; his son and daughter in law, Trenton Webster Holliday and Kathleen Mia Morgan of New Orleans; his daughter and son in law, Clarice "Cricket" Leigh Holliday Gordon and Stewart Thomas Gordon; five grandchildren: Emma Gordon, Webster Gordon, James Holliday, Luke Gordon and Christine Holliday. Three sisters and one brother also survive him: Faye Perry, Bonnie Gremillion, Gayle Mc Gregor, and Carey Holliday, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Broadmoor United Methodist Church from 9 am until services at 11am, on Thursday, February 12, with burial to follow at Roselawn Cemetery. The family requests those wishing may make memorial contributions may do so to Broadmoor United Methodist Church or Hospice of Baton Rouge.
