Percy B. Vinet, 90 passed away at home on April 29, 2021. He was born in New Orleans on March 12, 1931 to the union of Percy B. Vinet and Betty Rappold Vinet. He joined the USAF at age 17 and spent 33 months (1948-1952) in Japan with the 1st Radio Squadron Mobile. He graduated from ULL in Lafayette with a BS in electrical engineering and was a member of the Blue Key Society and Tau Beta Pi honor society. He also received a Master’s Degree from LSU, writing his thesis on digital computers. He was employed with Copolymer Rubber in Baton Rouge from 1957-1992. Mr. Vinet married the love of his life, Barbara Chastant Vinet and shared 68 wonderful years together. He was the proud father of Karen V. Marino (Donnie), Brenda V. Parker (Danny), Sandra V. Willett (Ron) and the late Alan Vinet (Sonia). He is also survived by grandchildren; Anthony Marino (Angel), Paul Marino (Brittany), Corey and Rachel Parker, Chad Willett (Ashley), Ambrey W. Nicholson (Coyt), Katie Vinet (Matt Ensminger), Jackie V. Smith (Wendell), Brianna Vinet and 11 great grandchildren. He also enjoyed years of travel and square-dancing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Percy Vinet and son, Alan Vinet. Visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 from noon until service time at 2:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be, Donnie, Anthony and Paul Marino, Danny Parker, Ron and Chad Willett.
