Retired founder/owner of Phil's Oyster Bar and Seafood Restaurant and resident of Baton Rouge, he died at 8:55 a.m. Monday, Sept. 10, 2007, at Ochsner Medical Clinic-Baton Rouge. He was 89, a native of Brusly and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Wednesday, Sept. 12, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m., and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. Religious service at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Miles Walsh. Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park. Survived by his son, Vincent Joseph Tuminello, Baton Rouge; sister, Rosalee Marino, Port Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Greco Tuminello; parents, Joseph and Zena Barovecha Tuminello; and four brothers and two sisters. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council 3298.
