Phoenix Jonathan Knowles, an LSU student, died unexpectedly from a fall on Thursday May 26th 2022 at 7:16 pm. He was 20 years old. Phoenix was born in Baton Rouge, LA on November 12th, 2001. He graduated from Baton Rouge Magnet High School in 2020 and was studying Coastal Management at LSU.
Phoenix worked at the PERTT lab for five years and he really enjoyed the lab and everyone he got a chance to work with there. Phoenix enjoyed playing chess, rock climbing, and listening to rock music. He was a kind, giving, and thoughtful young man. He was a fantastic son, an amazing brother, a wonderful grandson, a great cousin, and a loving nephew. Phoenix will be deeply missed. He is survived by his father, Jonathan Knowles; mother, Heather Dove; sister, Thea Knowles; paternal grandparents, Miriam and Philip Knowles; maternal grandparents, Ted and Carolyn Dove and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on May 31st at University United Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.
