

"Pierre Eugene Bagur III, a native of New Orleans and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on June 2, 2017, at the age of 76. Pierre was a long time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church and a participant in its choir. He loved books, particularly philosophy, religion, and history, and had a large library. He is survived by brother, Jacques David Bagur and wife Joy Dykhuizen Bagur of Baton Rouge; sister, Aimee Bagur Nelson and husband Randall E. Nelson of Santa Cruz, CA; niece, Eugenie Bagur Long and husband Starr Long of Austin TX; great-niece, Anaïs Elisabeth Long; nephew, Joshua Nelson Lucan and wife Andrea Wang Lucan of Eagle Rock, CA; great-niece, Zephyrine des Lilas Simone Lucan; niece, Michelle Bagur and husband Trott Bagur of Bastrop, TX; and nephew, Andre David Bagur of Guiyang, China. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre E. Bagur Jr. and Aimee David Bagur; and niece, Jessica B. Nelson. Visitation will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home Downtown, 825 Government St., from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A special Rosary Service will be at 7:00. Visiting will resume on Friday at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 749 East Blvd, Baton Rouge, from 10:00 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. The mass will be celebrated by Fr. J. Clifton Hill. Entombment will take place at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, at 3:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Michelle Bagur, Joshua Nelson Lucan, Randall E. Nelson, and Jacques David Bagur. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christian Foundation for Children and Aging, Missionaries of Charity, St. Agnes Church, and/or Catholic Relief Services.
