Dr. Raghavendra Rao Narra, a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a true patriarch to his family and friends, locally and abroad in India, passed away on June 30, 2015. Dr. Narra was firmly devoted to his family and enjoyed nothing more than a family vacation. It encompassed the things he held most dear - being surrounded by nature, creating new stories to tell for years to come, but most of all, enjoying quality time with his loved ones. But his family did not end with his blood relations - whether to his friends, his neighbors or a new acquaintance, Dr. Narra was forever "Mr. Fix-it". But he didn't just fix tangible things, of which he did more than his fair share. He extended his trust, care and fidelity to assure the emotional and physical well-being of everyone around him. His endless optimism and genuine compassion enriched each community he touched. For all this and more, he is truly irreplaceable and will be eternally missed. Born in Elamarru, Andhra Pradesh, India, Dr. Narra studied medicine at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka (class of 1973) and trained in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in New York. Dr. Narra started Narra&Associates in Gonzales in 1981. Through his tireless dedication to patient care and to his staff, he inspired loyalty and confidence in the community. With his partners, he grew the Internal Medicine practice into what is now known as St. Elizabeth Physicians serving Ascension Parish. He was beloved by peers, staff, and patients alike. He is preceded in death by his father, N.S.R. Anjaneya Choudary. He is survived by his wife, Dr. Anjani Narra, his son and daughter-in-law, Dr.&Mrs. Pavan and Tina Narra, Esq., grandson, Dekkan Narra, soon-to-arrive granddaughter, daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Swathi Narra, Esq. and Dr. Jay Miller, mother, Videhi Rathnam, sister, Dr. Ammaji Narra, and brothers, Mr. Krishna Rao Narra, B.E., Dr. Sam Narra, Dr. Kishore Narra and their families.
