Raymond Neal Norton, AIA, passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021, at the age of 70. He was a native and a lifelong resident of Baton Rouge, LA. Neal was an AVID LSU fan and a proud alum, graduating in 1974 in Architecture. He worked for Woodrow Wilson and Jerry Campbell and Associates. Among his many projects are the Aquarium of the Americas, Our Lady of the Lake Hospital, the Old Governor’s Mansion, the Old State Capitol building, Barnes and Noble on LSU campus, and numerous other campus buildings and landmarks - culminating with the grand restoration of the LSU Memorial Tower. Neal was a devoted and loving husband for over 30 years and the best father ever. Neal is survived by his daughter, Janie Norton Surratt and husband, Jon; brothers, Larry Norton and wife, Odette, and Ricky Norton and wife, Rachel; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Neal is preceded in death by his wife, Linda Marie Gray Norton; parents, Laurence and Marguerite Norton; and brother, Gene Windham. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from 4:00PM until 7:00PM. Visitation will resume at Greenoaks on Wednesday, May 5, 2021, from 8:00AM until the time of funeral services at 10:00AM, with Pastor Lynn Browning officiating.
