Raymond Louis Vince, Sr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on November 15, 1951, in Oceanside, California, Raymond spent the majority of his life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he built a lasting legacy of friendship, community involvement, and good humor.
Raymond was a man of sharp wit, generous spirit, and fierce loyalty. He enjoyed a long and respected career in the liquor industry, working for many years as both a liquor salesman and manager before later transitioning into public relations with Special Risk Insurance, where his ability to connect with people and his larger-than-life personality made him a natural fit.
A dedicated public servant, Raymond proudly served as a board member for the Prairieville Fire Department, where his leadership and commitment to the community were always evident.
Outside of his professional life, Raymond was a passionate sportsman and devoted fan. He was an accomplished tennis player and proudly captained several state championship teams. He remained a loyal supporter of LSU football and baseball, Saints football, and his beloved New York Yankees.
Among his favorite pastimes was fantasy football. Raymond participated in leagues with friends for many years, relishing draft days, trade talks, and Sunday football rivalries. It was never just about the games — it was about the conversations, the laughs, and the friendships that grew season after season.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Lynda Vince, who passed away on April 8, 2019. He is survived by his son, Ray Vince, Jr. and wife Tina Vince; his daughter, Brandi Hull; his grandchildren, Lauren Vince, Raegan Vince, and Brittany Fletcher; and his great-granddaughter, Margot Fletcher. More than anything, Raymond leaves behind a wide circle of loyal friends and longtime acquaintances whose lives were brightened by his humor, loyalty, and presence.
Funeral services to honor and celebrate Raymond’s life will be held on Wednesday , July 2, 2025, at Green Oaks Funeral Home in Baton Rouge. Visitation will take place from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM.
Raymond will be remembered for his wit, his deep friendships, his loyalty to his favorite teams, and the genuine connections he built with those around him. His legacy of laughter, strength, and kindness will live on in the many friends and lives he touched.
May he rest in peace.
