Rena Stanford Shinabery

Rena Stanford Shinabery, a native of St. Landry Parish and resident of Baton Rouge, was born August 26, 1929 and passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015 at the age of 86. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law; Rick and Toni Shinabery and Ted Shinabery; three grandchildren, Jason Shinabery and wife Tina, Jennifer Wheeler and husband Drew and Lindsay Brackin Duncan and husband Josh; three great-grandchildren, Lauren and Adam Wheeler and Addelyn Duncan along with numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, James A. Shinabery, Jr., parents Jessie and Fannie Lou Stanford, three sisters, Eva Krug, Rita Marks and Jessie Lou Fusilier; three brothers, James, Huey, and Earl Stanford; her daughter-in-law, Donna Neyland Shinabery and a great grandchild Dylan Robert Wheeler. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 11000 Florida Blvd on Sunday, September 6, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and again on Monday, September 7, 2015 from 10:00 am until funeral services in the chapel at 12 noon officiated by Rev. Bruce Worrell. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Rena was a faithful member of the Sherwood Baptist Church.
