"Reuben Homer "Buddy" Vernon, Jr, a resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at the age of 81. He was the beloved husband of Judy Duplantis Vernon for 22 years and the loving father of Ashley J. Vernon of Houston, TX . Stepfather of Randy Gray and wife Jenny and Skipper Gray and wife Virgie. Also survived by a sister, Mary Jo Worthy, son, Randy Vernon, and granddaughters Nola Vernon, Melinda Gray and grandson Kobe Gray; Nieces Sandra Worthy, Lynnie Lane and Nephew Spike Worthy. Preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Mary Lou Douglas Vernon, step father, Johnie Jones, sister, Gail Harrel and grandson, Jack Gray. Mr. Vernon was the owner of Buddy's Promotional Advertising for 35 years where he was popularly recognized for the backward lettering on his sign. He could help promote products, services or help you get elected. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 9 AM until 11 AM with the Funeral Service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory, Baton Rouge, LA.
