James "Jim" Alan Rentz was born Aug. 1, 1933. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Ruston and U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. Jim is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sarah Taylor Rentz; sons, Alan Rentz, of Baton Rouge, and David Rentz and wife Anita, of Chantilly, Va.; and daughter, Dee Ann Parvino and husband Troy, of Mobile, Ala. He was blessed with seven grandchildren, Jeffery Rentz, Andrew, Emily and Rachel Parvino, and Taylor, Kendra and Grafton Rentz. Jim had a passion for writing spiritual poetry and was an educator and Word evangelist. A private family celebration of his life will be held.
