Rhonda Lee Laney Zimmerman

Passed away peacefully on November 25th, 2025 in her hometown of Baton Rouge. Rhonda was born on October 22nd, 1956. Daughter of Lynette and Carol Harelson. Voted Miss Happy Go Lucky from Woodlawn High School class of 1974. Studied stained glass under Paul Dufour with a bachelors in Fine Arts from Louisiana State University class of 1979.

Always a creative, Rhonda remained a life long artist of multiple disciplines and a master seamstress. She was a wonderful cook and was known for her famous cheesecake. She was happiest when she was with her horses. She loved riding her bike around Baton Rouge especially the LSU lakes.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents and loving husband Artie Zimmerman.

She will be dearly missed by her family - daughter Alex Laney Madison and husband Jake, sister Diana Tullos and husband Craig, brother John Harelson, stepsons Tommy and Sarah Laney, Adam and Katherine Laney, in-laws Carol and Terry Oglesby, Bart and Tracey Zimmerman, Aunt Joyce Payer and her family, and many of her lifelong friends who were like family to Rhonda.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Louisiana SPCA.
