Richard Chase Albertine

Richard Chase Albertine passed away peacefully March 23, 2016 with his wife of 36 years, Margaret "Sissy" by his side. A Baton Rouge resident, he was born in Norwich, CT and served his country in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. He studied photography under Minor White at MIT, earned his Masters Degree at the University of Delaware and his Graduate Degree from RIT. He taught photography at Wright State University, Boston College, Solebury School, LSU, Southern University and others. His photographs are noted for their subtle renderings of black and white tonalities and further enhanced by various chemical after-processes. Most of his silver prints are one of a kind and nearly impossible to duplicate. Examples of his work can be found in the collections of museums, galleries and private collectors. His work is published in the Snapshot, The South by its Photographs, Frank Stanford publications, Gris Gris Magazine and others. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Chase Albertine, father, Frederick Palmer Albertine and step-mother, Veronica Albertine. He is survived by his wife, sister Diane Norman, son Kelly (Maria), daughter Lisa (John Barton) and four grandchildren, Francesca and Luca Albertine and Graham and Lucy Barton.
