Richard Paul Beard, 66, of Baton Rouge, LA, died on November 09, 2018 in Baton Rouge. Richard was an avid outdoorsman. He also had a love for aviation and he obtained a pilot's license. He loved to travel, and drove to Alaska on multiple occasions. He was volunteer Captain for the St. George fire department for 18 years. He was a certified rescue diver and also had extensive hazmat training. He retired from Dow Chemical after 39 years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend. He will truly be missed by everyone who had the honor of knowing him. He was preceded in death by parents, Charles W. and Alma S. Beard; brother, Charles W. Beard. He is survived by survived by his wife, Patricia G. Beard; children, Buddy P. Beard, Brad G. Beard, Stacy B. Harlow; his 4 grandchildren, Mackenzie, Kendall, Steven, and Patricia; and 2 brothers, Willard and Don Beard. Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation which will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 5pm-6pm. A memorial service will be held at 6pm following visitation.
