Richard Louis Bennett, a native of Madisonville, LA, and a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Friday January 30, 2015, at the age of 84. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and an avid fisherman. He was a graduate of LSU, and he remained a dedicated LSU sports fan. He retired as a civil engineer after 36 years of service to the State of Louisiana. He is survived by his daughters, Paula Ann Bennett and husband, Kevin Shaw, Lisa Marie Smith and husband, David, Judy Elaine Silvio and husband, Denny; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and brother, Eddie L. Bennett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Della Graham Bennett; and his parents, L. A. and Ella Mae Bennett. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 7th, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Alexandria Memorial Gardens in Alexandria, Louisiana. Greenoaks Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
