

Richard Brian "Dick" Tucker, Sr. age 67 of Baton Rouge, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans. He was born October 2, 1947 in Baton Rouge to George W. and Rose Mary Patterson Tucker. He was a 1965 graduate of Istrouma High School. He then attended Southeastern Louisiana University on a baseball scholarship and later attended LSU. He proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division. On May 30, 1970 he married Denise McLaughlin in Baton Rouge. They are the parents of three children: Richard Brian Jr. (Jackie Satawa), Jennifer Jill Doepp (Edward), and Erin Elyse Mackey (Dane). He was involved in the family business, George Tucker and Associates, for 34 years as a mechanical designer, and later as owner and President. His interests included his family, sports cars, and Harleys. He coached Little League and American Legion Baseball and was involved in all of his children's activities. His proudest and greatest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Denise, son Brian, and daughters Jill and Erin. Grandchildren: Caroline and Christopher Tucker, Abby and Emma Doepp, and Audrey Elyse Mackey, born January 29, 2015. His brother John Tucker (Margaret), Aunt, Theda Tucker Ricks, and Mother-In-Law, Gretchen McLaughlin. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Rose Mary and a brother, Donald Patrick, who died in infancy. Services will be held at Rabenhorst East, on Tuesday, February 3rd at 1pm, with Father Tom Duhe, officiating. Visitation will be from 11am to service time. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
