
A resident of Baton Rouge, he passed away at 8:15 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2014. He was 68, a native of Chattanooga, Tenn. After serving in the National Guard from 1966-67, he graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1973. At the time of his passing, Richard was semi-retired, doing mostly consulting work. He was co-owner of RecTec LLC and RecTec Marine LLC. Prior to owning his company, he was Vice President of Southern Scrap Metal Recycling in New Orleans for 18 years. He was appointed as a Commissioner for the Scrap Industry by Gov. Mike Foster to the Louisiana Used Motor Vehicle Commission in 1997. Visiting will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., on Sunday, Feb. 16, from 1 p.m. until service at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Ron Turner. Survived by his wife, Lisa G. Friedrichsen; two daughters and a son-in-law, Ashley F. and David Davis, and Chandler P. Heard; stepson, Hunter Heard; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Susan Friedrichsen, and Paul and Patty Friedrichsen; and his beloved grandchildren, Hunter Davis and Emerson H. Heard. He was preceded in death by his parents, Guy and Betty Langston Friederichsen. Memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the Alzheimer's Association.
