

Robert who passed on January 20, 2016, was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on October 11, 1955. He was one of three children of former United States District Court Judge John V. Parker and Elizabeth Fridge Parker. Bob was a 1973 graduate of Lee High School. He obtained a bachelor of arts degree from Louisiana State University where he was also a member of the Kappa Alpha Order. A former resident of Point Coupee Parish, Bob was self-employed marine contractor and assisted with rebuilding efforts in the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Bob was a loyal LSU fan, avid outdoorsman, and an amateur golfer. He truly enjoyed spending time with his family and he will be missed. Bob is survived by his brother, Mike Parker and wife Sonja Parker and their children, Rachael, Catherine, and John, as well as his sister, Linda Thompson and husband Chris Thompson and their children, Grace and Grant, and by his uncle, Whilden S. Parker. Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 12:00 p.m. until the memorial service at 1:00 p.m., to be held at the Broadmoor United Methodist Church. Honorary pallbearers are Buck Gladden, Steve Huggins, Steven Carville, Tommy O'Conner, Roger Kahoe, David Persac, Grant Thompson, John Parker, and the "golf group." In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to LSU, The Carpenter House hospice center at St. Joseph's, or to your favorite charity. The family sincerely thanks everyone for their kind words and support.
