

Robert Camile "Bo" Champagne, Sr., 94, passed away peacefully at his son's residence in Covington, LA on Sunday, February 21, 2021. A native of Baton Rouge, Bo was born to Lucille Ledet and Lionel Alfred Champagne on January 10, 1927. He was a graduate of Saint Stanislaus in Bay Saint Louis and LSU, community volunteer, U.S. Marine of World War II and retired from the field of banking and finance. As a father he was the Scout Master for all three of his sons and instilled the scouting values- trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent in them via leading by example. As a husband, he loved dining and dancing, cooking, arts and literature and traveling with his soulmate. He enjoyed playing golf and in retirement would play 2 or 3 times a week until the age of 87 when he stopped to take care of his ailing wife. His wife, Kathleen "Connie" Champagne, preceded him in death in 2016. Bo is survived by sons, Kenny C. Champagne and wife Bobbie of Covington, LA and Paul P. Champagne and wife Roxana of Pace, FL. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Paul C. Champagne and wife Lacey; Kristy Champagne Morgan and husband Justin and Robert G. Champagne and fiancé Ashley Hemby and three great-grandchildren, Christopher Morgan, Dayton Vinson and Lincoln Champagne and very dear family friends, Kathryn Grigsby and Robert Breazeale of Baton Rouge and Billy and Marsha Williams, Caleb, Madeline and Kyle of Covington, LA, Elsa Fussell, Chrissy Nicolais and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, wife, and son, Robert C. Champagne, Jr., he was preceded in death by siblings Lionel Joseph "L.J." Champagne, Sidney Alfred Champagne, Edwin Charles "Brother" Champagne, Lillian Champagne Schaefer, Sister Lydia Champagne, S.J, Anna Lee "Beb" Champagne Switzer and Marie Champagne "Sis" Bowers.
