For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died." 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14. A devoted husband, loving father, and wonderful friend, Robert "Bob" Perry Bayly passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife, children and close friends were by his side as he went home to be with Jesus. Robert celebrated his 66th birthday on December 23, 2014. He was born in Jackson, MS, but resided in Baton Rouge for over 30 years. Robert was employed with Power Control Systems, where he served as a Vice President of the company. He received a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Mississippi State University and he was a licensed Professional Engineer. He was respected and admired in the workplace and was a mentor to numerous individuals in his field of work. Robert enjoyed working, hunting, cooking and collecting guns. Robert is survived by his wife of 38 years, Phillis Oswalt Bayly; his mother, Annie B. Bayly of Jackson, MS; his children, Jennifer Welch and husband Andrew, Perry Bayly and wife Stephanie, Kimberley Du and husband Jacob; his grandsons, Joseph and Jackson Du and Nixon Welch; and his sister Jane Bonner and husband Mike of Jackson, MS. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert P. Bayly, Sr. Pallbearers will be Andrew Welch, Jacob Du, Barry Weaver, Michael McAnelly, Dustin Bergeron, Sam Pearce, Danny Myers and Tim Garrity. The service will be conducted by Dr. Tommy Middleton. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 28, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Boulevard, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and will continue on Monday, December 29, at 8:00 am until funeral services at 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park, 6000 Clinton Boulevard, Jackson, MS, at 2:00 pm.
