Robyn Elizabeth Hebert Thibodeaux, devoted family matriarch and retired educator, died June 5, 2026. She was 67. Married to her husband Ron since 1978, she relished being “Marmee” to three dear children, 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A native of Marrero and a resident of Baton Rouge, Robyn was a graduate of Terrebonne High School (1976) and Louisiana State University (1980). She taught elementary grades at Luling Elementary and Immaculate Conception School in Marrero in the 1980s, and kindergarten at St. Margaret Mary School in Slidell in the 1990s. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.
An accomplished, self-taught cook, Robyn enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends, school and church functions, and her husband’s co-workers at Louisiana Economic Development and The Times-Picayune. She happily shared her self-published collection of recipes and personal stories with multiple generations of family members.
An avid reader and public library patron, Robyn shared her love of reading with all in her family. She was happiest when reading aloud to her grandchildren from the extensive collection of children’s books she accumulated during her teaching career. No St. Patrick’s Day was complete without Marmee’s animated retelling of “Jamie O’Rourke and the Big Potato.”
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Paul Thibodeaux; three children, Genevieve Hebert Thibodeaux Gohn (Randall) of Baton Rouge, Jonathan Paul Thibodeaux (Faith) of Slidell, and Paul David Thibodeaux (Madeline) of Los Alamos, New Mexico; a brother, Howard Luke “Tookie” Hebert Jr. (Carmel) of Gretna; a sister, Gay Ann Hebert (Edward) of Lake Charles; brothers-in-law Bill Gonsoulin of Lafayette and Dennis Thibodeaux (Susan) of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Cheryl Suzanne Hebert Gonsoulin; her parents, Howard Luke Hebert Sr. and Claudia Virgia Liner Hebert; and a grandchild, Grace Elizabeth Thibodeaux.
