Roddy John Boudreaux

Roddy John Boudreaux passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 80. He was born on February 26, 1946, in Napoleonville, LA, as was a resident of Baton Rouge, LA. If there was one thing he loved, it was bringing people together. Whether he was standing over a cast-iron jambalaya pot, firing up a pot of gumbo, or cooking for a crowd, he believed the best memories were made around good food and good company. His home was always open, and he never needed a special occasion to gather family and friends. A devoted member of his MBS church community, he found joy in serving others and sharing his faith. He cherished the lifelong friendships he made as a boy, faithfully meeting his buddies for breakfast and never letting the years come between them. He truly never met a stranger—everyone was greeted with a smile, a story, and treated like family. His generous heart, Cajun hospitality, and love for people will be remembered by all who were blessed to know him. Roddy is survived by his wife, Ruby Pecot; children, Blane Boudreaux (Jamie), Brandi Putnam (Brett), Wayne Davis (Shannon), Blake Boudreaux (Sherry), and Brooklyn Albin (Todd Sanford); grandchildren, Erin (Tyler), Hayden (Lauren), Dylan, Blaise, Victoria, Zann, Caden (Nya), Titus (Alicia), Amelia, and Henry; great-granddaughter, Audrey and coming soon, Hallie; sisters, Margaret Ann, Bernadette (Tommy), and Veronica; and a host of other family members and friends. Roddy is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Boudreaux; son, Roddy Jr.; parents, Richard and Vivian; brother, Richard, Jr.; and sister, Celine. Visitation will be at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 9am until the funeral service at 11am. Burial will immediately follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.
