

Roland Ray Floyd, Jr., 53, of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away on January 16, 2024. He was born on April 28, 1970, in New Orleans, LA. Ray was a beloved son, father, and friend, a kind and loving soul who loved the Lord. Ray graduated Woodlawn High School, class of 1988, attended Southeastern University, and was also an Army veteran. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Marrs Floyd; his former wife, Wendy Achee; daughter, Alice “Aly” Price (Jacob); grandchildren, Zayden and Zane; aunt, Rosemary “Auntie Rose” Floyd; cousins, Preston, Marsha, Jeffrey, and Steven Boyd at their country home in Clinton; and a host of other family and friends. Ray is preceded in death by his father, Roland Ray Floyd, Sr.; brother, D.B. “Buck” Floyd; and grandparents, Henry “Buck” and Helen Floyd. Ray had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly fishing and boating. His fondest memories were from time spent at the family camp in Grand Isle. He also had a passion for LSU sports, cheering on the Tigers with great enthusiasm. A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 11 am until his memorial service at 1 pm at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA. Rev. Whitney Alexander, of First Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge, will be officiating. Ray will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. May his soul rest in eternal peace.
