"Roland Neff Selig, Sr. passed away Tuesday, 7 February 2017, one month shy of his 93rd birthday. He was a native and life-long resident of Baton Rouge and a parishioner of St. Agnes Catholic Church for 70 years. Roland joined the Army Air Corp in World War II, served as a ball turret gunner in a B-17 and was awarded a Purple Heart and numerous Air Combat ribbons. At the end of the war, he finished his studies at LSU and worked as the Design Engineering Department Head at the Exxon refinery for 38 years.Roland enjoyed life but especially his immediate and extended family, friends, LSU sports and good seafood. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 70 years, Eloise Arbour Selig, his children: Roland Neff Selig, Jr. (Becky), C. Dennis Selig, Tommy J. Selig, Jane Louise Andre' (David), his brother Ray Selig and his sister-in-law Caroline Selig. Roland was preceded in death by his parents, Rowena and Louis Selig and his brother Louis, Jr. Pallbearers will be his six grandsons. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government Street in Baton Rouge on Friday, 10 February from 6-8pm. A funeral mass will be held at St. Agnes Church at 11am on Saturday, 11 February with visitation at the church from 10:00-11:00. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Joseph's Academy or Catholic High.
