
Ronald J. "The Babe" Frisard, 70, of Baton Rouge passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007. He was born and raised in New Orleans. Ronald was a 33-year veteran of Louisiana State Police and he retired as the commander of Region 1 Narcotics Division. While in the State Police, he attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va. For the past 10 years he was chief of security for the Secretary of State's Office. In civic life he was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner. He also served his country as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Anthaume Frisard; his daughter, Bonnie Frisard and son-in-law Daniel Ericson of Hollis, N.H.; his son, Ron Frisard and daughter-in-law Laura Frisard of Groton, Mass.; and his stepchildren, Bridgitte Peckham of Watson, Brian, Gene and Donovan Jones, all of Baton Rouge. He is also survived by his sister, Gerry F. Lopinto of Gonzales; and his brother, Jules Frisard of Chalmette. He leaves behind his 10 grandchildren: Brianna, Sarah and Rachel Ericson, all of Hollis, Meghan Frisard of Groton, Skylar, Victoria and Derreck Peckham, all of Watson, Trent Jones of Baton Rouge, and Brandi and B.J. Steilberg, both of Slidell. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Frisard; and his parents. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be his nephews, Frank Lopinto Jr., Col. Michael Lopinto, Donald Frisard Jr., Andy Frisard, Gary Frisard and Jules Frisard III. Visiting hours will be observed at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Sept. 30, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until religious service at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Biloxi Memorial Cemetery, Biloxi, Miss., at approximately 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Louisiana Troopers Charities Inc., 8120 Jefferson Highway, Baton Rouge, LA 70809 (225) 928-2000.
