Jeter Moran, a beloved husband, son and brother, passed away Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at age 30. He was a consultant with Moran Construction and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Although he was young, he lived a full and rich life that reminded those around him to seize every moment. Jeter recently married and the night before his death talked about his and Laura's future plans and their strong love for one another. At their wedding, Laura described Jeter as selfless, genuine, and as her protector. Jeter loved to eat and cooked lasagna that made a person want to lick the plate clean. Family was important to Jeter and he often mentioned his love for his new extended family of nephews and nieces. Jeter was an avid traveler and at all times looking for the next adventure. LSU football was one of his passions and he had been known to be rowdy enough to get thrown out of the stadium, once taking his brother with him. Jeter was a free spirit and lived life by his own set of rules. His warm smile was a constant and signified his laid-back attitude. He could never wait until a special occasion to open his gifts, and if he shook the box, he always could guess what it contained. One of Jeter's greatest loves was hanging out with his family and friends at the ranch. He was competitive and he would stay out at the lake until he caught the biggest fish of all. Jeter's love of life, free spirit and adventurousness will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Jeter was the one who always won at whatever the stakes may have been. Was it luck or did he know something we didn't? We would like to think a little bit of both, but mostly the former. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, Dec. 17, was from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Visiting resumes Tuesday, Dec. 18, from noon until religious service in the chapel at 1 p.m., conducted by the Rev.
