

Rose Mary Martine Coerver, a native of Burnside, died Monday, June 27, 2016. She was born on February 25, 1926, the second daughter of the late Charles Anthony Martine and the late Lillian Landry Martine. She graduated from St. Vincent's High School in Donaldsonville and later graduated from Charity School of Nursing, Catholic University in Washington, D.C., and Tulane University. She was a retired public health nurse. Rose Mary is survived by her husband of 58 years James F. Coerver; sisters Marion Martine Roques and husband Maurice, Frances Martine, Clementine Martine and Agnes Martine Schexnaydre, sisters-in law Rose Mary Coerver, Gennie Coerver Bolin, Robin Coerver and Patty Coerver. In addition, she had numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Marie Teresa Martine, sisters-in-law Mary Catherine Coerver McAfee, Margaret Coerver Jolly and brothers-in-law Nolte Schexnaydre, Thomas C. Coerver, John J. Coerver, Michael J. Coerver and James W. Jolly. Pallbearers will be Charles F. Martine, Charles, Rod, Peter, John and David Roques. Visitation will be on Friday, July 1, 2016 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church beginning at 9:30 a.m until funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment in St. George Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul at P.O. Box 127, Baton Rouge, LA 70821-0127 or any charity of your choce. Rose Mary lived her life in service to others and many lives were enriched by her kind heart. Rabenhorst Funeral Home on Government Street entrusted with final arrangements.
