Rose Mildred Lafleur Poret

Rose Mildred Lafleur Poret, a native of Opelousas and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Saturday, June 22, 2013, at the age of 94.  Mildred retired from Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse, where she worked for many years.  Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Monday, June 24, 2013, from 5pm until 8pm.  Visitation will continue on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 9:30 am until Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 am officiated by Reverend Jerry Martin and Reverend Mark Ledoux.  Burial will follow at Greenoaks Memorial Park.  She is survived by four daughters and two sons-in-law, Mary Ann and Ken Ledbetter, Janice Poret, Melanie Coye, and Jeanne and Chris Baker; a son and daughter-in-law, Ross, Jr., and Cynthia Poret; eight grandchildren, Tracy, Ken, Kyle, Lauren, Elizabeth, Cassidy, Kelli, and Kirby; and three great-grandchildren, Heather, Anna, and Noah.  Preceded in death by her husband, Ross F. Poret, Sr., and four sisters and three brothers.  Donations may be made to the Fr. Verbis Lafleur Scholarship or Memorial Fund in care of St. Landry Church, 1020 N. Main St., Opelousas, LA. 70570.
