Rose Begnaud Tessier, a resident of Baton Rouge, passed away on Wednesday June 9, 2021 at the age of 86. She was a graduate of Lafayette High School, then later Baton Rouge Votech, LPN Program. She worked as a nurse for Doctors Luikart for 15 years until she retired in 1991. She enjoyed Cajun and country music, gardening, fishing, and travels with her husband and sisters. She is survived by: a son, John (Melati) Tessier, two daughters, Jeanine (Sam) Wheeler, and Monique (David) Cabrera; five grandchildren, Brennan and Lauren Cabrera, Sean Tessier, and Christopher and Chase Wheeler; three sisters, Ruth Robin, Eva Vincent, and Billie Sharon, all of Lafayette. She is preceded in death by: her parents, Lee Paul and Annoise Leger Begnaud, brother Paul Begnaud, two sisters Mary B. Laborde and Elsie B. Trahan, and her husband of 59 years, John B. Tessier. Visitation will take place on Friday, June 11 at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, at 10:00am until the funeral service begins at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
