Rosemary was born on February 28, 1937, in Derma, Mississippi. She attended and graduated from Charity Hospital New Orleans School of Nursing in 1958, where she worked for the next two years respectively. During her employment there, she met the love of her life and best friend Gerald. She also worked at Our Lady of the Lake hospital in Baton Rouge until turning her attention to being a full time mom.
Rosemary was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Breau. Together they built a loving family and shared many cherished memories. In addition to her professional accomplishments and devotion to family, Rosemary found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She especially loved fishing and camping—activities that brought her peace and allowed her to connect with nature and those she loved.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, sister Olivia Holcomb, and nephew Anthony Stokes. She is survived by her three children-- Byron Breau and wife Deirdre, Mike Breau and wife Mary, and Deborah Keowen and husband Travis; four grandchildren--Joey Breau and wife Phoenix, Andrew Breau and wife Crystal, Hunter Bambarger and girlfriend Alexis Sheldon, and Rebecca Breau; two great-grandchildren-- Dawsyn Breau and Chandlyr Breau; and a sister, Phyllis McHenry.
Rosemary’s warmth and strength will be remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
A Visitation will be held on July 5, 2025, from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Rabenhorst East 11000 Florida Blvd. Pastor Jay Coleman of Journey Church Central will deliver the memorial service at 11:00. Followed by processional to Greenoaks Memorial Gardens for graveside service and internment.
