

Rosa “Rosie” Mae Taylor Young, 93, native of Arnaudville, LA and longtime resident of Baton Rouge, LA, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Rosie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church and loved her family unconditionally. Rosie is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Frank Norris Young; her children, Roy Young, Karen Friedman (Rick), Judy Talley (Michael) and Brenda Cook (Mark); 7 grandchildren, April Clark (Josh), Courtney Stricklin, Taylor Braud (Conner), Morgan Talley, Logan Talley, Austin Cook, and Allie Cook; 4 great-grandchildren, Dallas and John Anthony Stricklin, and Jeremiah and Veronica Clark and one on the way; sisters, Sybil Kidder (Don) and Betty Richard; brothers, Ray and Charles Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Welzie and Anna Schexnayder Taylor; sisters, Beatrice Kidder, Lucille Knott, and Gladys Donalson; and brothers, Stephen, Ben, and George Taylor. A visitation will be held at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, LA, 70815, on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 4 pm until 7 pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church from 9 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rick Friedman, Mark Cook, Michael Talley, Charles Taylor, Roy Young, Austin Cook, and Logan Talley.
