Roxane (Roxie) Tyson, daughter, sister, aunt and cousin, was born October 17, 1976 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Mr. Robert and Mrs. Mildred Tyson. She was loved and cared for beyond measure throughout her life. She transitioned into eternal rest on Monday, May 3, 2021 at 10:35 pm at home surrounded by her family at the age of 44.
When Roxie’s family looked at her, we saw the many things she could do. She could smile. She could laugh. She could feel happiness. She could love without condition. She could show her love without ever saying a word. Not everyone has those abilities. Love isn’t only shared through words. Love is much deeper than words.
Roxie taught us about kindness and patience, because it took a lot of love, patience and dedication to care for her needs day after day (in particular by her mother). To nurture someone so completely, and to do it for so long, takes a dedication and depth of love that is hard to comprehend for those who haven’t done it. It is truly unconditional love, and it is perhaps the most beautiful and pure example of love that exists. Roxie made that kind of love exist. She made it possible.
And Roxie gave us the gift of beauty. Her life wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t glamorous. There were a lot of hard times, for her and for her family, but she taught us that we can see past the difficulties and find the beauty, for there is always beauty. And we celebrate the fact that her body and mind that were once so restricted have now been set free. In God’s presence, what was true on this earth is no longer true.
Those who remain to cherish Roxie’s memory include her Parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Tyson, Jr.; one Brother, Robert J. Tyson, III (Sakina) of Prairieville, Louisiana; two Sisters, Brandy M. Tyson-Polk of Gonzales, Louisiana and Mona Lisa Williams (Don) of Plano, Texas; 2 Nieces, Kaelin and Julia; 5 Nephews, Kendal, Cameron, Caleb, Jayden and Jordan, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Family Friends.
She was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents, 4 aunts, and 5 uncles. Roxie will always be loved and missed dearly. We were given the gift of her life, but God wanted her back. And now her work here is done.
