

Roy Charles Bradley, Jr. passed away peacefully in his home, Thursday, September 6, 2018, after a long illness. He was 80 years old. Charles was born in Shreveport, LA, where he lived for 35 years. He moved to Baton Rouge, LA, in 1973 where he resided for 45 years. Charles graduated from Fair Park High School in 1955 and attended college at Louisiana Tech. In 1973, he moved to Baton Rouge to work for the Louisiana Department of Revenue where he eventually became the Director of Sales Tax and later, the Director of Excise Tax. Charles retired after 32 years of service. He then pursued a lifelong dream of opening his own portrait photography business, Bradley Photography. He and his wife, Lucy, were very active with the Winnebago RV travel clubs, Bago Cajuns and Bayou Winnies. Charles was a charter member of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Shreveport, LA, and later a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, in Baton Rouge, for 45 years. Charles is survived by Lucy, his devoted wife of 61 years; daughters, Rebecca Sonnenfeld (David), and Andrea Bradley; son, Chuck Bradley (Elma); grandchildren, Corey, Elisha, Casey and Max; brother, David Lloyd Bradley; and numerous other family members. Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marjorie Bradley; brother, John Gregory Bradley; and in-laws, Albert and Norma Staley. Charles’ family is especially thankful for the loving care provided by Tiffany Dunn over the last several months. Visitation will be held St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 8833 Goodwood Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, from 10:00AM until the time of memorial service at 11:00AM. Memorial Donations may be made in Charles' name to St. Luke's Episcopal Church.
