Roy Schnebelen Sr.

Roy Allen Schnebelen, Sr, age 88 went to be with His Lord and Savior on March 17, 2016, at 11:17 pm. He was a native of Plaquemine, LA and a resident of Central, LA. He was born on November 23, 1927. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ruby Joffrion Schnebelen of 71 years; son, Roy Schnebelen Jr; daughter, Pat DeLaune and husband Steve; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Blanchard and Joyce Hebert; brothers, David Schnebelen Jr and wife Montez, and Warren Schnebelen and wife Vicky; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Francis Schnebelen and Eleanor Roy Schnebelen; grandson, Douglas DeLaune; and daughter in law, Judy Schnebelen. He was the owner of Roy Schnebelen Contractor and R.A.S. Management Co. He gave all honor and glory to God for any success in his life. He loved duck hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camps with family and friends. He never lost his sense of humor with a laugh that was distinct and contagious. He never met a stranger. He devoted his life to his family and church, attending Mass daily. He gave and volunteered unselfishly to help the poor. Visitation will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Monday, March 21, 2016, from 10 AM until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM conducted by Father Frank Bass. Interment will follow in Grace Cemetery in Plaquemine. Pallbearers will be Roy Schnebelen III, Steve DeLaune Jr., Darren DeLaune, Roy Schnebelen IV, Dalton DeLaune, and Darren DeLaune Jr. The family would like to thank family and friends for their love, prayers, and support.
