

Roy Joseph Tucker passed away peacefully at his home on November 11, 2025, Veterans Day. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend — a sweet, funny, and truly great man.
Born July 14, 1943, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Roy was a lifelong resident of the area.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Peggy Lasserre Tucker; his daughter, Tricia Lynne; his son and daughter-in-law, Roy Joseph Tucker II and Julie Annette Tucker; and Patrick Joseph Cotton (Jeanette Carr).
Grandchildren: Dustan Michael Tucker (Lisa Watson), Roy Joseph Tucker III (Emily Powell), Madison Emily Arrowood (Max Arrowood), and Jack Brennan Tucker (Alexis “Lulu” Palmquist).
Great-grandchildren: Roy Joseph Tucker IV, Parker Sessions, and Emma Annette Tucker.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom were like first children to him and Peggy.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, John Berchman Tucker and Emily Miranda Tucker; his brothers, John Berchman Jr., James Robert, and George Tucker; his beloved sister, Sr. Mary Damian Tucker; and his father- and mother-in-law, Joseph H. Lasserre Sr. and Grace Sicard Lasserre.
Roy proudly served for four years in the United States Army. He retired after 20 years from Ethyl Corporation of Baton Rouge, and later worked with Tucker’s Seafood, Troverco Distributors, and English Color.
A faithful member of the Catholic Church, Roy served in several parish ministries and was a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1970. He also served as Retreat Captain for St. Joseph Abbey for more than 20 years.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815, from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m.
Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Louisiana National Cemetery, 303 W. Mt. Pleasant–Zachary Rd., Zachary, LA 70791.
