

"Ruby June Ash Ricks, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the age of 86. She was born in Clinton, LA to Gladys and Clarence Ash and was a resident of Baton Rouge. Ruby was a retired state employee with Earl K. Long Charity Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA. She was an excellent homemaker, an avid puzzle solver, and enjoyed spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her devout love and devotion to her family, her kindness, beauty, and great sense of humor. She is survived by her husband Leon Jack Ricks, two children Timothy Jack Ricks and Jennifer Ann Ricks, five grandchildren, Timothy Ricks, Ashley Perez and spouse Corky Perez, Matthew Carlisle and spouse Mandy Carlisle, Angela Corletto and spouse Herman Corletto, Jinger Morgan and spouse Calen Morgan, three great grandchildren, Haylee Elizabeth Ricks, Evan Ryan Perez, and Owen Thomas Perez. She is preceded in death by her parents Gladys and Clarence Ash, four brothers, C.J., Francis, Cecil, and Clovis Ash, four sisters, Alice Dours, Esther Polk, Birdie Freiman, Violet Broes Anderson and several nieces and nephews. Visitation services will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East at 11000 Florida Blvd. Baton Rouge, LA on Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 2 pm until 7 pm. Visitation will continue Monday, September 18, 2017 from 9 am to 11 am, Pastor Kerry Ash to officiate with burial following at Masonic Cemetery in Clinton, LA. The family would like to extend special thanks and gratitude to Matthew and Mandy Carlisle and Mandy's mother Brenda for opening up their home after the 2016 flood and for their continuous care and support of their grandparents, Ruby and Jack.
