Ruth Baker

John 14:1-4 "Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going." Ruth Irene Baker, 93, after a long and rewarding life has gone to be with the Lord. Ruth passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside in her home on Thursday, January 1, 2015. A resident of Baton Rouge and Central since 1978, she and her late husband Dale founded the family business, 4B Plastics, where she served as secretary and bookkeeper until retirement in 2011. She is survived by her son and his wife Travis and Barbara Baker; her daughter and husband Becky and Tom Colello and daughter-in-law Linda Baker. Eight loving grandchildren: Lori and husband Ryker Keller; Amy and husband Mike Dowden; Jeniffer Colello Ardoin; Cory and wife Jessica Baker; Matthew and wife Mckenzie Colello; Kyle Baker and fiancé Amanda Cormer; Paul Graham and fiancé Noel Weathersby; and Stacie and husband Andy Rasmussen. Seventeen great-grandchildren: Madison Colello, Christopher Dowden, Travis Dowden, Peyton Dowden, Chase Keller, Kanan Keller, Skyler Baker, Olivia Colello, Mason Pilcher, Dalton Graham, Kaylie Graham, Bailea Graham, Caden Graham, Drew Rasmussen, Raimie Rasmussen, Maggie Rasmussen and Rhett Rasmussen. She was preceded in death by her parents Roland "Brownie" and Alice Brown, husband Warren "Dale" Baker, eldest son Carl Lee Baker, sister Mary Harman and brother-in-law Simon "Pick" Harman. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2015, at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd, Baton Rouge, from 5-8 PM and Tuesday morning January 6, 2015, from 10 AM to 12 noon with funeral service beginning at noon. She will be laid to rest at Greenoaks Cemetery, Baton Rouge after the service. The family would like to express our gratitude to the care givers Carolyn Williams and Tracey Williams for providing such quality and loving care for our mother in the last weeks of her time with us.
