Ruth Kinney Crowe, 93, born Nov. 19, 1917, in Bear Wallow, Ky., to Edward Palmer Kinney and Elizabeth Tisdale Kinney, died of congestive heart failure on Friday, June 10, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, Tampa, Fla. She was the widow of Charlie Crowe and lived in Baton Rouge for more than 50 years. She was a housewife most of her life, but in the effort for World War II, she was a highly trained welder building Bailey bridges for the U.S. Army. She is survived by a sister, Maxine Wilson, of Tampa; and three nieces, Nan Kelly Wilson, Julia Ann Bottomley and Sue Ellen Carlson, all of Tampa; and many wonderful friends in both Baton Rouge and Tampa.
