

Ryan Joseph Dauzat, affectionately known as “Pops,” passed away at the age of 91 on August 30, 2024 at his condo in Pensacola Beach, Florida with his wife by his side. Ryan was born in Hessmer, Louisiana and was a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He graduated as salutatorian from Fifth Ward High School in Belle d’Eau and attended Louisiana State University. Ryan was a Master Plumber with the Plumbers Local #198 and a previous owner of Marino and Son Plumbing and Heating, Inc. as well as A’La Carte Gift Shoppe. He was an Usher at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for 45 years, as well as a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. Ryan was a voracious reader, especially when it came to World War II European Theater, and he loved fishing whenever he was able. Ryan is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Shirley Marino Dauzat; daughters, Stephanie Marino Dauzat and Dr. Elizabeth Dauzat Seiter (Patrick Seiter); granddaughters, Cami Garland, Katy Garland Butler (Dustin Butler), Emily Seiter (Cory Hymel) and Ellie Seiter; as well as great-grandsons, Rhett and Elliott Butler. Ryan was preceded in death by his parents, Elda Dauzat and Della Mayeaux Dauzat; his in-laws, Sam Marino and Josie Vince Marino; as well as his three younger sisters. Pallbearers will be Patrick Seiter, Toddy Garland, Dwain Sutherland, Dustin Butler, Cory Hymel and Glen LeBlanc. Honorary pallbearer will be Sylman Dauzat. Relatives and friends are invited to the South Chapel at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802 for a visitation on Friday, September 6, 2024 beginning at 5:00PM and ending at 9:00PM. The following morning, September 7, 2024, visitation will be at St. George Catholic Church, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70809 beginning at 11:00 AM until the Funeral Mass which will begin at 12:00 Noon. The burial is to follow at St. George Cemetery Mausoleum located at the Church with a reception after in the church hall. The family would like to offer special thanks to Ms. Ora Lee Payne and Dr. J.
