
Self-employed owner of Cypress Oil LLC and a resident of Baton Rouge, he died of natural causes at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Ochsner of Baton Rouge. He was 63 and a native of Lebanon. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Friday, Jan. 14, was from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Service at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 10 a.m. Survived by his wife, Raye Johnson Hussein; daughter, Heather Hussein Griffin and husband Chad; sons, Erick Hussein and wife Tiffany, and Jared Hussein; beloved grandson, Brycen Hussein; mother-in-law, Katherine Gaudin and husband Gerald; sister-in-law, Kathy Poche and husband Russell; and brother-in-law, Carlton Johnson Jr. and wife Lisa. Preceded in death by his parents, Mohammed and Delell Hussein; brothers, Omar and Hasan Hussein; sister, Wajiha Hussein; father-in-law, Carlton Johnson Sr.; and very special grandmother-in-law, Rose Michael. Pallbearers will be Chad Griffin, Carlton Johnson Jr., Damon Leblanc, Gerald Gaudin, Russell Poche and Joshua Poche. Sam never met a stranger. He loved life and his family and friends to the fullest.
