Sam Anthony Sylvester

Sam Anthony Sylvester peacefully entered eternal rest on May 27, 2025 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, at the age of 61. He was a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of St. Clare Manor. Sam was a proud graduate of Redemptorist Diocesan Senior High School class of 1982, a graduate of Baton Rouge Vocational Technical Institute and a member of Ray M. Lorio Knights of Columbus Council #17544.

Sam is survived by his sister, Anne Sylvester Cramer, his brother, Thomas Charles Sylvester (Marie), and his godmother Paula Schoenfeld Porter; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrea Charles and Pauline Solito Caneno; parents, Louis Edward and Mary Caneno Sylvester; sister, Katherine Mary Sylvester; and brothers, Louis Edward Sylvester Jr., and Victor Joseph Sylvester.

Services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025, at St. Gerard Majella Catholic Church 5354 Plank Road, Baton Rouge, Louisiana with visitation at 10:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Greenoaks Memorial Park, 9595 Florida Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70815.
