With heavy hearts and much love, the family of Samuel Joseph Crifasi, Jr, announces his passing from this world and into the open arms of his, Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 7, 2025. Sam “Buddy” Crifasi Jr. was born on August 24, 1950 to Sam and Mary Lou Crifasi. He was the second born of eleven children. From the beginning, Buddy stood out to us as someone truly special. He was kind in his words, adventurous in his spirit, and caring in his actions. Whether it was in the church or out in public, Buddy lived his faith with a sincerity that touched everyone he met.
Sam met his wife, Debbie, in church where they both served. Their meeting quickly turned into a love that has endured a lifetime. Sam was a long-time member and deacon at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Baton Rouge. He was the owner of timber consulting firm, Forest Eco Systems, and was widely respected for his knowledge of the timber industry. Sam built the curriculum and instructed the first Forestry Technician program in the state of Louisiana. An avid outdoorsman by trade, his work took him from the mountains of southeast Oklahoma to the coastal plains of Virginia. Sam was always serving others and helping people in their time of need. In his older years, Sam enjoyed spoiling his grandsons, Samuel and William, teaching them about the forest and enjoying the great outdoors.
Sam Crifasi is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie, daughter, April and son, Aaron (Christine) and grandsons Samuel and William. 7 siblings and their spouses: Linda (Tibor), Jim (Margaret), John (Nancy), Jeff (Terri), Philip (Robin), Joey and Jan (Jamie); nieces and nephews, Julian, Yvette (Scott), Monica, Adrian, Nathan, Josh (Hillary), Jonathan (Heather), Christina (Ben), Kylie, Thomas (Charlsey), Nina, Trent (Colette), Cody, Dillon, Luke, Joanna and Adam, great nieces and nephews Gracie Cassey, Ruby and Samuel Keys, Kailyn, Parker, Axel, Giovanni and Luca.
