
Sandra M. "Sandi" Way, age 51, died at Woman's Hospital at 12:54 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2008, after a three-year battle with cancer. She was born in Baton Rouge on March 23, 1957. She was a graduate of Broadmoor Senior High School and LSU, where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was the membership director at The Bluffs Country Club&Resort in St. Francisville. Prior to this she worked at LABI as the regional sales manager and was membership sales director. She also concurrently held the position of club manager at The Country Club of Louisiana and was the director of membership sales at the Camelot Club for 20 years which was owned and operated by Club Corporation of America. She was very active in her community and her many involvements included: a former member of the Sunrise Rotary Club, sustaining member of The Junior League of Baton Rouge, former alumnae president of Zeta Tau Alpha, 10 plus years as fundraising volunteer for Hospice of Baton Rouge, chairman of annual Hospice Gala for three years, active member of St. James Episcopal Church, where she served on the Associate Vestry and Altar Guild. She also served on the board of directors for General College at LSU. She is survived by her mother, Helen E. Way; a sister, Tracie A. Way; and a brother, William S. Way Jr. She was preceded in death by her father, William S. Way. Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Mark Holland at St. James Episcopal Church in Baton Rouge on Monday, May 5, with visitation at the church parish hall from 11 a.m. until start of funeral at 1 p.m. Pallbearers will be Sam Agnew, Michael Clarke, John Hardy, G. Bradley Harrison, Ben Melanson, Timothy Mockler, John Morganti and Glen Wesley.
