A loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend, she was born in Timpson, Texas, on May 12, 1917, and passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, in Baton Rouge at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was retired from Dillard's. She is survived by daughter, JoAnn Wilson Layhue, Prairieville; sons, Jerry Wilson and wife Kathy, Calhoun, and Larry Wilson and wife Maxine, Phoenix; sister, Mildred Pace, Denham Springs; grandchildren, William Layhue and wife Angie, Prairieville, Tammy Hariford and husband John, Shreveport, Tina Frakes and husband Alan, Baton Rouge, Chad Wilson and wife Daja, Phoenix, and Tara Hollier and husband Ron, Slidell; great-grandchildren, Jon Hariford, William James Ross Layhue, Kurtlynn Layhue, Calvin Layhue, Gabriel Frakes, Corbyn Wilson, Bradyn Wilson, Adam Hollier, Evan Hollier, Alex Hollier and Mia Hollier; an expected great-grandchild due in February and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, James Ross Wilson; parents, James Walter and Ida Myrtle Whitworth; brother, Larry Melvin Whitworth; sister, Evelyn DiBenedetto; and a great-grandson, Joseph Alan Frakes. Mrs. Wilson was a charter member of Temple Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and needlepoint. Visiting will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Monday after 9 a.m. until religious service at noon in the funeral home chapel, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Burnett and the Rev. Huey Moak. Interment will follow in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. William Layhue, Chad Wilson, John Hariford, Jon Hariford, Alan Frakes and Ron Hollier will serve as pallbearers.
