

A native of Bastrop, LA and lifelong resident of Baton Rouge passed away March 14, 2012, at the age of 91. He was born July 8, 1920. He served in the US Navy Seabees CBMU 545 in New Guinea. He is retired after 30 years of service from Copolymer Rubber & Chemical and is also a retired Building Contractor with Honey’s Construction Company. He was a member of Boiler Makers Union 582 and a mason at Istrouma Lodge 414 and order of Eastern Stars #163. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Joyce M. Honey; sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Connie Honey, and Clyde Allen Honey; grandchildren, Johnny Michael Honey and Sarah Honey; and sister, Maudelle Curry. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ida Orr Honey and John Lewis Honey; brothers, Johnnie L. Honey and Eli Honey; sisters, Lucille Ratcliff and Miriam Tyler; and daughter in law, Susan Honey. Visitation will be held at Lanier Baptist Church, 4851 Lanier Dr, on Friday, March 16, 2012, from 5 PM until 8 PM and will resume Saturday, March 17, 2012, at 9 AM until service time at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. We would like to thank St. Clair Manor for their loving care and kindness given to Sherman during his stay. He was treated with kindness and love from the staff and residents. Also, to the nurses and staff at The Carpenter’s House-St. Joseph Hospice and special thanks to Dr. Daigle for going above and beyond in the care of our daddy and husband.
